Is it time we all embraced the 4 day work week?

Read time:

John Trougakos

Four days of work, 100 per cent of the pay — that might sound like a fantastic idea for employees. But there's a lot of benefit to a reduced work-week for employers as well, says professor John Trougakos, who has been studying rests and breaks for years.

Following a successful large-scale experiment of the four-day work week in the U.K., the trend has seemingly spread globally, including trials here in Canada.

Kicking off the second season of the Rotman Executive Summary podcast, Trougakos joins us to talk about why a shortened work week is having its moment now, what's in it for employees and employers, and how organizations looking to reduce the hours their teams work can make sure the experiment is successful.

Join us next month as we chat with professor Walid Hejazi about why Canada hasn't yet entered a recession, and what that means for our long-term economic health. Subscribe to the podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcast now.
