A
Commemorative Historical Landmark
In 1973
Samuel Barish and Cyril Leonoff, two descendants of the original Wapella
pioneers, with help from the Jewish Historical Society of British Columbia,
initiated a campaign to raise funds to construct a cairn as an historical
marker to commemorate the pioneer families.
The Saskatchewan Government provided a bronze plaque to place on the
front of the cairn. An image of this plaque is included above as well as a map
below showing its geographical location.
