TORONTO, November 7, 2001--
An initiative launched last year by female MBA students at the University of Toronto’s Joseph L. Rotman School of Management to encourage more women to enroll in the MBA program continues this month with an open house at the Rotman School.
The Rotman Women in Management Association hopes the informal reception will help potential female students discover the value of pursuing an MBA. Association co-chairs, Marice Hart, MBA’02 and Julija Ezergailis, MBA’02, say the evening provides a friendly atmosphere in which women can meet with female students, graduates, and faculty of the Rotman MBA program.
“It’s an opportunity for women who may have never considered enrolling in an MBA program to ask questions about the degree and the career opportunities it leads to,” adds Julie Kwong, MBA’02, event chair, who is also a co-chair of the Women in Management Association. “While the number of women in the most recent entering class has risen to 31 per cent, we feel there are still many qualified female candidates who need to learn about the benefits of the program.”
