2002 Rotman Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards - Call for Applications, Closing July 8, 2002

Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2002 Rotman Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. For more than ten years, this unique recognition program has grown to provide an exciting national tribute to Canada's most outstanding women entrepreneurs.
"The Canadian women entrepreneurs we honor have relentlessly pursued innovative and unique business strategies to create value in the economy and for their customers", says Roger Martin, Dean, Joseph L. Rotman School of Management. "They combine attitude, creativity, risk-taking and ambition to become industry and global leaders. We truly believe that these Awards help encourage and inspire the kind of integrative thinking that will help Canada compete in the global economy"
A candidate for this Award has, for at least three years, owned a business registered in Canada (not a franchise). Her ownership must be at least equal to any of the other owners and if the company is public, she must be the founder and an active member of the management team. She earns her primary income from that business, is responsible for its day-to-day management, and is a model of entrepreneurship!
Previous recipients of these prestigious Awards include: Doreen Braverman, The Flag Shop (Vancouver, BC); Rosemary Marr, Transera Group of Companies (Calgary, AB); Jody Steinhauer, The Bargains Group Ltd.; (Toronto, ON), Bonnie Struthers, Normont Industrial Hardware Canada (Montreal, QC) and Gloria Parsons, Chancellor Park Inc. (St. John's, NF).
Awards are given in five categories including Start-Up, Lifetime Achievement, Innovation, Impact on Local Economy and Export.
The Awards are presented by Bank of Montreal in partnership with Export Development Canada, Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited, National Post and National Post Business Magazine, Business Development Bank of Canada, Chatelaine and Profit Magazines, and supported by Ireland + Associates, Deloitte & Touche, Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP, Industry Canada and Tiffany & Co. This Awards program is an initiative of the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
