TORONTO, June 18, 2001 -- The Joseph L. Rotman School of Management,
University of Toronto, is pleased to announce the call for applications for
the tenth anniversary year of the highly regarded Canadian Woman Entrepreneur
of the Year Awards 2001. The deadline is July 9, 2001.
An annual initiative of the Rotman School, this distinctive program
recognizes outstanding women entrepreneurs. It is consistent with the school's
mandate to develop and recognize outstanding Canadian business leaders.
"Over the past 10 years, recipients of these unique awards have continued
to enjoy tremendous success," says Roger Martin, Dean, Rotman School. "Women
who have been honoured in the past are now today's leaders of publicly traded
and globally expanded companies, and sit on the boards of some of the world's
leading organizations. Our program acknowledges these women and encourages
others to follow in their footsteps."
A candidate for this award has, for at least three years, owned a
business registered in Canada (not a franchise). Her ownership must be at
least equal to any of the other owners and if the company is public, she must
be the founder and an active member of the management team. She earns her
primary income from that business, is responsible for its day-to-day
management, and is a model of entrepreneurship! Self-nominations are accepted.

Tattersall, President, Tattersal Sound Inc., Linda Butler, President & CEO,
Kidzpace Interactive Inc., Dianne Waterhouse, President, Round Top Window
