TORONTO, June 14, 2000 --
Rotman Professor Peter Pauly, a noted expert on international
economics, will give an update on the economic outlook for Asia on Friday,
June 16. Prof. Pauly, who is Rotman's associate dean, research and academic
resources, recently returned from a research trip to the People's Republic
of China. He is the director of Project LINK, an international research
project with over 300 participants from 80 countries. A joint initiative
with the United Nations, the project is headquartered at the University of
Toronto.
Prof. Pauly is speaking as part of Rotman's Global Management Program for
23 Executive MBA students from Taiwan's National Central University. Prof.
Pauly's presentation will be followed by a reception to celebrate the
student's graduation from the week-long program taught by a combination of
Rotman School faculty and outstanding business leaders. As part of their
learning experience in Canada, students visited two of Canada's most
successful corporations - Nortel Networks and RBC Dominion Securities -
providing direct exposure to North American business operations.
Media are welcome to attend Prof. Pauly's presentation and the Graduating
Reception for the Executive MBA students at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 16 at
the Faculty Club, University of Toronto, 41 Willcocks Street. Please call
(416) 946-3818 to confirm your attendance.
The partnership with National Central University builds on a similar
program that provides a global education module for the one-year Executive
MBA program at the Business School São Paulo for International Management
(BSP). The partnership with BSP brings approximately 160 Brazilian students
to the Rotman School every year.
