Rotman School Alumni Event Examines the Future of Work
and Corporate Organization
TORONTO, May 29, 2002 -- Noted experts on economic development and business strategy are featured speakers as alumni return to the University of Toronto's Joseph L. Rotman School of Management for a day of complimentary lectures. Rotman Life-Long Learning 2002 is the fourth annual event for graduates of the Rotman School to learn about the latest trends and developments in economic and business issues. This year's event, on Friday, June 7, examines the future of work and corporate organization.
Richard Florida, H. John Heinz III Professor of Regional Economic Development, Heinz School of Public Policy and Management, Carnegie Mellon University, will discuss his new book, The Rise of the Creative Class: How It's Transforming Work, Leisure, Community and Everyday Life (Basic Books, 2002).
Rotman Adjunct Professor Don Tapscott, Co-Founder of Digital 4Sight and President, New Paradigm Learning Corporation, will present a key note address titled, "Why the New Forces of Transparency Will Permanently Change the Way You Run Your Organization."
Roger Martin, Rotman School Dean and Professor of Strategic Management, kicks off the day with a presentation on "Growing Communities of Human Capital."
