TORONTO, March 14, 2001 -- TORONTO - An initiative by female MBA students at the University of
Toronto’s Rotman School of Management to encourage more women to enroll in the
program kicks off tonight with an open house at the Rotman School.
The Rotman Women in Management Association hopes the informal reception will help potential female
students discover the value of pursuing an MBA. Event
organizers, Eliza McDougall, MBA/LLB’01, and Catherine Ward, MBA’01, say the evening provides a
friendly atmosphere in which women can meet with female
students, graduates, and faculty of the Rotman MBA program.
“It’s an opportunity for women who may have never considered enrolling in an MBA program to ask
questions about the degree and the career opportunities it
leads to,” says McDougall.
The open house is the first of two events this month sponsored by the Women in Management Association.
On March 23rd, the sixth annual Women in Management
Conference takes place with Lorna Borenstein, general manager, eBay Canada, as guest speaker.
