TORONTO - The University of Toronto Capital Markets Institute enters the New Year with a new web site aimed at facilitating communication between the Institute and the constituents it serves. The web site, located at www.rotman.utoronto.ca/cmi/, contains listings for Institute events and news and a library of research papers. An on-line forum to discuss the latest issues in capital markets will be added later this month. "The web site enables us to communicate in a timely and effective manner with the various participants in the Canadian capital markets that the Institute serves," says Rotman Professor Paul Halpern, Director and Toronto Stock Exchange Chair in Capital Markets. "This includes promoting CMI events such as the upcoming ‘Canadian Capital Markets in the Year 2010’ conference to be held next month." "Not only will it allow us to distribute information, it will also encourage important interaction between researchers, regulators, financial institutions and individuals, through features such as the discussion forum," says Jeffrey MacIntosh, Professor of Law, and Associate Director. The University of Toronto Capital Markets Institute is a joint initiative of the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Law. It was established in 1998 with a donation from the Toronto Stock Exchange to the University of Toronto.
