AN INVITATION from
Roger L. Martin, Dean

RE: Rotman Integrative Thinking Seminar, 12:45 - 2:15 pm, Monday, September 16, 2002, Room 134 (Ground Floor), Rotman School, 105 St. George Street, Toronto

You and your guest(s) are invited to take part in the eleventh session of our ongoing Rotman Integrative Thinking Seminar Series, which showcases leading integrative thinkers. Solving complex problems and making robust decisions in a turbulent business environment requires integrative thinking skills. In addition to having knowledge of specific functional disciplines, we believe that business leaders need to develop the ability to create mental linkages to understand the disciplines together. Through innovative research and with leading faculty, the Rotman School is developing and implementing the world's first curriculum for teaching integrative thinking.

Registration and lunch boxes will be available from 12:45 until 12:55 pm. At 1:00 sharp I will begin the seminar with a summary of key learnings from the first ten sessions in our series. I will then introduce our esteemed guest speaker, Nandan Nilekani, CEO, President, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Infosys Technologies Limited. Nandan will recount his career and his style of thinking and management that helped him and his colleagues build Infosys into a world leader in the consulting and information technology services sector. He will speak for about 45 minutes and answer questions for 20 minutes. The seminar will adjourn no later than 2:15pm. Infosys is headquartered in Bangalore, India with 10,000 employees around the globe. For the year ended March 31 its revenues were US$545 million, despite a very challenging economic environment in its industry.

The cost to participate is $125 per person plus GST. For alumni of the Rotman School or the University of Toronto the cost is $99 per person plus GST. Lunch will be provided. You may wish to bring a client or colleague. Dress is business casual. Underground parking is available. The entrance is just south of the Rotman School. The net proceeds from the seminar will be invested in our Rotman Vision Fund where they will be directed to the School's most pressing needs.
