Creating a Definition Project for Business Leadership
AIC Definition Detailed View
Definition The inner circle includes the clear-cut responsibilities for the execution of the economic function--products, jobs, and economic growth. The intermediate circle encompasses responsibility to exercise this economic function with a sensitive awareness of changing social values and priorities: for example, with respect to environmental conservation; hiring and relations with employees; and more rigorous expectations of customers for information, fair treatment, and protection for injury. The outer circle outlines newly emerging and still amorphous responsibilities that business should assume to become more broadly involved in actively improving the social environment.
