Research from Rotman Faculty Honoured with Awards

Toronto, August 26, 2013 – Two research papers co-authored by faculty at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management have been recognized in different awards competitions.A paper, co-authored by Peter Christoffersen, a professor of finance, was awarded a $5,000 runners up prize in the 2013 Whitebox Prize for the best financial research. Option-implied Measures of Equity Risk was published in the April 2012 issue of the Review of Finance. His co-authors included Bo-young Chang of the Bank of Canada, Kris Jacobs of the University of Houston, and Gregory Vainberg of McGill University. The prize is awarded annually by Whitebox Advisors LLC, an investment adviser based in Minneapolis.A paper co-authored by two professors who are appointed to the Rotman School and the University of Toronto Scarborough won the 2012 best paper award from the Journal of Organizational Behavior. Knowledge Hiding in Organizations was co-authored by UofT Profs. David Zweig and John Trougakos as well as Catherine Connelly of McMaster University and Jane Webster of Queen’s University.
